I have been seeing a few things lately in regards to illegal immigration that have been baffling if I am honest. If you have been following me since I started in July, you know that I have written many pieces regarding the US border crisis. A few months ago, states like Texas and Florida decided to start transporting illegal aliens up to blue (American term for Democrat run) cities in the north. This was done in an attempt to bring the problem that states like Texas have been having for years to the doorstep of those who have long been advocating the policies that have caused the current crisis. However, instead of the blue city officials admitting defeat, they have decided to double down on their cope.
Brandon Johnson using public funds for feeding illegal aliens
Chicago mayor Brandon Johnson is one such example of the stubbornness that is plaguing the Democrats on this issue. It turns out that he has directed over 17 million dollars of taxpayer dollars to 18 brown and black small businesses in order to ensure that illegal aliens that have been sent to the city get fed. Right off the bat, I can see multiple issues with this. First of all, why is he singling out black and brown businesses for this money? What about white businesses? The last I checked, Chicago has a large white population. Why should white taxpayer dollars be going to initiatives that do not include them? Also, will we have guarantees that the money given out will be used for what it is meant to be used for? Is there any oversight to this? The other problem, obviously, is the fact that illegal aliens should not even be in Chicago in the first place. Brandon Johnson should be working with ICE and Border Patrol to send illegal aliens back to their countries of origin. Yet he will not. We all know why. He then went on some silly tirade about how he has a black wife and kids which is why he can’t go to the border himself.
Boston officials advocate private quartering of illegal aliens
Boston city councilwoman, Julia Meija, said that she thinks “everybody should be opening their doors because this is a shared responsibility.” She is not the only Massachusetts official to start calling for this, the Lieutenant Governor has also stated similar sentiments. It also turns out that there have been a couple families in Boston who have taken in illegal aliens. This is yet another example of Democratic run government abandoning their responsibilities and handing them off to the citizen. For now it is voluntary, but why should this be a question at all? Again, we have ICE. We have Border Patrol. We have people whose jobs it is to deal with the illegal immigration issue. Where are they? What are they actually doing? Are we just paying two entire agencies to just sit around and do nothing? If that is the case, why are we even paying for them? Biden may as well just be honest and disband them if he isn’t going to use them. Meija also goes on to state, in regards to other places stepping up, that “Dedham, Wellesley, Brookline — cities and towns that have so much more resources than the city of Boston. People who actually have more financial support.” More resources than Boston?! Are you telling me that Massachusetts’ largest city has less resources than the suburbs? This is like saying that New York City has less resources available than Albany. How the heck are you that big of a city and be acting like you have no resources? You know, maybe you would actually have the resources you needed had you not spent them all on silly projects like this.
The blame game begins
And of course, the people running these cities are blaming Texas for all of this. They aren’t blaming the Biden administration, whose policies led to Texas to take extraordinary measures to get rid of illegal aliens. They aren’t blaming Mayorkas who has done next to nothing to secure the homeland as is supposed to be his job. No, it is all Texas’ fault, of course. Texas is just supposed to suffer in silence while blue cities are allowed to keep on going without reaping the consequences of the open borders policies that they preach about and support. That was the plan, but Greg Abbott and Ron DeSantis said no. Now they are coping and seething that they have to suffer not even a fraction of the percentage that Texas has.
Mayorkas impeached
Some good news out of all this though, is that Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas was impeached by the US House of Representatives earlier this week. He is the first cabinet secretary to be formally impeached in over 150 years, the first being War Secretary William Belknap in 1876. Do I expect him to be convicted in the Democrat controlled Senate? No. However, the trial will be interesting because it will force him to defend the charges brought against him as to why he feels it is necessary to just do absolutely nothing regarding the border. Hopefully it is televised for the entire public to see.
Honestly, out of all of Biden’s appointments, Mayorkas is the worst. The Department of Homeland Security is one of our most important cabinet positions and Mayorkas is just using it as a paycheck without keeping the country safe. His negligence is criminal, as it has led to criminal activity and deaths among American citizens. The cartels are sure to love him, he allows them to stay in business. Aside from Biden, who can’t remember who he is half the time, Mayorkas actually has agency and mental competency. He is doing all of this knowingly. His incompetence is most certainly intentional. I charge Mayorkas with being in the pocket of big business and cheap labor advocates and for betraying the American worker.
Conclusion
The conclusion that I take from this is obvious. Democrats are doubling down on unpopular policy because their ideology doesn’t permit them to do otherwise. They know that they are completely screwed on this issue but cannot do anything about it because it would mean that they admit that their worldview is wrong. Any suffering among the native residents of their cities will be worth it as long as it means no concession to the Populists. Of course, the population of these cities are their own worst enemy. They complain about these issues but vote in the same people in who are enabling them every time. I would be less sympathetic, but as a resident of a blue city (in Florida, thank goodness) I know that not everyone in these areas are down with what their leaders are doing. There is a very simple solution to all of this: deportation. One word. One action. That is all. Yet the Democrats (and many Republicans) are scared to utter it. We need a top down deportation plan that involves forcing blue cities to comply. They are violating federal law but the executive branch refuses to enforce it. This silliness must end and a reign of common sense enacted.
