The Moscow Attack

Terror Attack in Moscow

On March 7th, the US Embassy in Moscow issued a warning about imminent terrorist attacks against crowds within 48 hours. As you are aware, nothing came of that initially, leading me and many others to think that it was just a false alarm.

Well, dear readers, it looks like it wasn’t a false alarm, the actions which were being warned about were just delayed. Earlier today, in Moscow, at Crocus City Music Hall, multiple gunmen opened fire on the crowd inside the building.

Not only did they shoot innocent civilians, they somehow managed to set the roof of the Music Hall on fire. This fire, as far as I am aware, has been extinguished through the efforts of the Russian firefighters.

Unfortunately, many of the gunmen had slipped through the fingers of Russian law enforcement. The good news is, one of them was caught, and whatever he is facing now, it probably isn’t pleasant.

There have been many videos taken of this attack by people inside the Music Hall when it was being attacked. I will not share those videos in this piece, as there are many instances where they show violence and death.

All 6000 of the seats in the Music Hall were booked for today, making the prospect of this being a well planned attack much more likely than a random act of violence.

Many countries expressed their condolences towards the Russian Federation, including the US and France, though notably, Biden has stated he does not plan to call Putin.

As of now, there has been no concrete answer to who was behind this attack. There was news circulating a few hours ago of ISIS claiming responsibility, but this was quickly shown to be fake.

There was also news being thrown around that men from a Caucus separatist group were responsible, but this was also confirmed false as those men were liquidated three weeks ago.

A criminal case against the attackers has been opened, and President Putin is expected to address the nation sometime in the near future.

What Now?

This attack comes after multiple western nations upping their rhetoric against the Russian Federation. It also comes after the targeting of many oil refineries on Russian soil. While there is no confirmation of who is responsible for the attack, Russia will most likely hold the West and the Ukrainians responsible anyhow.

I have been saying for many days that the rhetoric being used by the West is leading us down a dangerous path. Now, it makes it harder for us to have plausible deniability. The Russians will undoubtedly be very suspicious of us.

There are also reports that the Ukrainians are firing at Belgorod yet again, not even a few hours after this attack occurred. I’m not saying that the Ukrainians did it, but if they didn’t do it, this is a very bad time to do things Russia has said not to do.

Former Russian President Medvedev has also stated that if Ukraine was in fact behind this attack, then the entire leadership of the country will be targeted by Russia.

It also appears that the US has cautioned the Ukrainians from taking any more action deep within Russian lands. This warning has gone unheeded. Of course, why shouldn’t it? Ukraine is the one actually fighting. Another case of the Americans believing they can micromanage something they know little about.

It seems that 30 minutes before I wrote this that Ukraine has targeted yet another refinery in Russia.

Now, I am not saying that the West or Ukraine committed this attack. What I am saying is that we will most likely see a more aggressive Russia as a result. There are rumors of an impending mobilization order, as well as a formal upgrade of the Special Military Operation to an actual war.

Dmitry Peskov, Putin’s spokesman, even said last night that Russia is in a state of war. Whether that means anything, we will have to see, but Peskov isn’t known for throwing such statements willy nilly.

Conclusion

As of now, there have been 70 people confirmed dead by the authorities, with hundreds more injured. Anyone condoning this terrorist attack is a fool. Even if you disagree with Russia’s actions concerning Ukraine, there is no excuse to target innocent civilians going to a concert.

I do not agree with the civilian suffering in Russia nor do I agree with the civilian suffering in Ukraine. There are many people who have been caught up in all of this who just want to have normal lives. It is a shame that this is now impossible.

I will leave off with a warning. If these terrorists were indeed people funded and directed by the West, we will be in a world of trouble. Anyone cheering this on needs to understand that we will not survive this if it escalates how I think it will.

Again, we must work for peace to prevail in the world. For the future of ourselves and our children.
